choc + vanilla slice

Who loves no bake treats? I sure do! I made these with oats, almonds, cashews and for some extra love I threw in some milo for the base & vanilla protein in the creamy filling 🥰 so yum!

If you're wondering what milo is, it's a malt powdered drink we have here in Australia but you can use cocoa powder as a substitute, as for the cacao butter you can use coconut oil as a substitute.

RECIPE:

This is a small serve and made 4 bars

For the base:

1/2 cup almonds

1/2 cup oats

1 tbsp milo (or cocoa powder)

1/4 cup peanut butter

1/4 cup water

For the creamy top:

1/2 cup soaked cashews

1 tbsp maple syrup

1 tbsp cacao butter

1/2 cup soy milk

1 scoop protein powder (I used vanilla)

For the drizzle:

1/4 cup dark chocolate, melted

1️ In a blender combine the almonds, oats and Milo (or cocoa powder) and blend together. Alternatively you could use almond and oat flour.

2️ Add the peanut butter & water and mix together until sticky. Press into a loaf pan, or muffin pan or regular container. Freeze for 30 mins.

3️ I pre soaked my cashews in hot water for 1 hour prior to making this step. Combine cashews with cacao butter, milk, maple syrup and protein powder. Mix until creamy and smooth.

4️ Remove the base from the freezer and top with the cashew mix. Return to the freezer to set. I like to leave it overnight but a good 6-8 hours would work.

5️ Melt the chocolate, remove the slice from the freezer. Drizzle with the melted chocolate and enjoy!

Keep in the freezer and remove 30 mins before serving.
